in die Untertitelung und Synchronisation ist die translatorische
Problematik der Übertragung von Akzenten und Dialekten in Filmund
Fernsehmaterial, welches es in eine andere Sprache und Kultur zu
übertragen gilt.
Zunächst wird daher auf die Definition von Akzent, Dialekt und
Standardsprache eingegangen, und auf ihre Aufgabe in Filmen und
Fernsehserien. Die nachfolgenden Beispiele beschäftigen sich alle mit
Filmen. Zudem wird der Einfachheit halber vor allem auf die
Übertragung von einer Fremdsprache (vorwiegend Englisch) ins
Deutsche eingegangen, da dies auch in der Praxis der häufigste Weg
ist. Denn eine Fülle von Hollywood-Produzierten Filmen wird jährlich
in deutsche Kinos gebracht und bedarf der Übertragung ins Deutsche.
Der umgekehrte Weg ist eher die Ausnahme, stellt aber die gleichen
Probleme dar, die auf die gleiche Art und Weise gelöst werden
können.
Der Problematik der direkten Äquivalenz, bzw. der Frage, ob man
diese überhaupt erreichen kann, wird in den nachfolgenden Kapiteln
nachgegangen. Das Erreichen einer indirekten Äquivalenz durch
verschiedene Mittel ist der häufigste Weg, um die Handlung und
Atmosphäre eines Films zumindest halbwegs und ohne dass der
Zuschauer dies bemerkt, in die Zielsprache und –kultur zu
transferieren.
