Des Weiteren ist die Arbeit, im Gegensatz zu früher, nicht mehr nur dazu da um die Grundbedürfnisse des Menschen zu befriedigen, sondern wird mittlerweile eher als Bestandteil der persönlichen Selbstentwicklung gesehen. Folglich muss sich das Management auch mit den individuellen Zielen des Mitarbeiters auseinandersetzen und den Arbeitsinhalt desjenigen so zu gestalten, dass er sich mit den Zielen des Unternehmen auch identifizieren kann. Eine einzige, allgemein gültige Motivationstheorie, mit der erklärt wird, wie menschliches Verhalten im Betrieb zustande kommt, gibt es jedoch nicht. Doch im Zuge der Globalisierung und des immer schärfer werdenden Wettbewerbs, suchen immer mehr Unternehmen nach einer Möglichkeit die Produktivität zu steigern. Ziel der Hausarbeit ist es, die Inhaltstheorien von Maslow, McGregor und Herzberg ausführlich darzustellen, denn ihre Kenntnis ist eine
wesentliche Voraussetzung für den Umgang mit Mitarbeitern.
