Doch was verursachte diese Lawine? Woher kam sie und vor allen Dingen, was war davor?
Diese Arbeit versucht Aufschluss darüber zu geben, welche Ereignisse und Entwicklungen auf gesellschaftlicher, musikalischer und industrieller Ebene bis zum Ende der 50er Jahre im Zusammenhang mit dem Aufkommen des Rock and Rolls in den USA standen. Wird generell davon ausgegangen, dass es sich bei Entwicklungen wie dem Entstehen des Rock and Rolls oder der Jugendbewegung um evolutorische Prozesse handelt und handelte, stellt sich die Frage, ob hier eine Grenze überschritten wurde: weg von einem Prozess, in dem sich über einen langen Zeitraum verschiedene Ereignisse gegenseitig beeinflussten (also dem Wesen einer Evolution gleich), hin zu einem revolutorischen Charakter, der den Rock and Roll zu einem wesentlichen Faktor zur Einflussnahme anderer Bereiche avancieren ließ? Falls es diesen Übergang gegeben hat soll weiterhin geklärt werden, ob es einen bestimmten Zeitpunkt gab, an dem der Evolutions- in einen Revolutionscharakter überging beziehungsweise ob sich das Ende der Entwicklung mit Evolutionscharakter auf ein einziges Trigger-Element zurückführen lässt? Wenn ja, wer oder was war dafür verantwortlich?
