Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Romanistik - Französisch - Literatur, Note: 2+, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (Institut für Romanistik), Veranstaltung: Marksteine der französischen Lyrik, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: „Les plus désespérés sont les chants les plus beaux“, so lautet der wohl berühmteste Vers von Alfred de Mussets Gedicht La nuit de mai aus dem Jahre 1835.
Diese wenigen Worte beschreiben wohl auch sehr prägnant Mussets Stimmung zu jener Zeit, entstand dieses Gedicht doch kurz nach seiner gescheiterten Liebesbeziehung zu der Dichterin und Romanautorin George Sand. In dieser Stimmung des Dichters ist auch die Inspiration zur Nuit de mai zu suchen.
Die Nuit de mai, nach dem Zeugnis von Alfred de Mussets Bruder Paul „in zwei Tagen und einer Nacht dichterischer Begeisterung niedergeschrieben“ (Luscher 1991: 133), ist der erste Dialog zwischen dem schöpferischen Genie des Dichters Alfred de Musset und dem von irdischer Liebe zu einer Frau verratenen, von Schmerz durchdrungenen Menschen, dem jegliche Kraft zum Schreiben fehlt (vgl. Luscher 1991: 132 f.).
Im Rahmen dieser Hausarbeit soll nun das Gedicht La nuit de mai interpretiert werden, wobei der Ansatz zum großen Teil werkimmanent sein soll. Der Gedichtinterpretation gehen zwei einführende Kapitel voraus: Zunächst soll es um den romantischen Schriftsteller Alfred de Musset selbst gehen, mit dem Ziel, einen kleinen Einblick in sein Leben und Schaffen zu bekommen und etwaige Interpretationsansätze, die in Zusammenhang mit seinem Leben stehen, besser verstehen zu können.
In einem zweiten Schritt erfolgt eine Einbettung der Nuit de mai in den entsprechenden Gedichtzyklus, der neben diesem noch drei weitere Nuit-Gedichte enthält und im Jahre 1840 erschienen ist (vgl. ebenda).
Der größte Teil der vorliegenden Hausarbeit soll der Gedichtinterpretation selbst gewidmet sein, das Gedicht ist aufgrund seines Umfangs dem Anhang beigefügt.
Bei der Interpretation soll das Hauptaugenmerk auf der entsprechenden Sekundärliteratur liegen, wobei es mein Ziel ist, auch zahlreiche eigene Überlegungen mit einfließen zu lassen.
