Die Methoden der Ökonometrie im Bezug auf die Fragestellung: "Warum schwanken Betafaktoren überhaupt?" werden auf einfache Weise erklärt. Zuerst wird der Betafaktor und die optimale Portfoliogewichtung durch Beispiele vorgestellt, um dann anhand zweier Berechnungszeitfenster auf die mathematischen Gründe, die auch ökonomisch erklärt werden, einzugehen. Letztendlich wird ein Faktormodell zur Klärung der Einflussfaktoren der Betafaktorenvariation aufgestellt auf das zum Schluss ein Resümee folgt.
