Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Deutsch - Pädagogik, Didaktik, Sprachwissenschaft, Note: 1,3, Technische Universität Dortmund (Institut für Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaften), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird das Thema Bilderbücher im Hinblick auf seine pädagogische Funktion und Bedeutung umrissen. Das Bilderbuch ist ein Gegenstand von vielen, der in der Literaturwissenschaft behandelt wird. Wenn man jedoch lediglich seine literaturpädagogische Bedeutung besonders in Bezug auf Erstleser betrachtet, wird ihm meiner Meinung nach nicht genügend Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Das Bilderbuch kann bereits im Kindergarten und in der Grundschule erste Weichen für späteres Leseverhalten und Lesemotivation stellen. Darüber hinaus verbirgt es auch ein nicht zu geringes Sachwissen. Es bietet Gesprächsstoff und Anlaß für Diskussionen. Gleichzeitig fördert es zahlreiche Aspekte der kindlichen Entwicklung. Aufgrund der besonderen Bedeutung des Bilderbuchs für Kindergarten und Schule in Bezug auf seine unterschiedlichen Förderungsmöglichkeiten und seine besondere Kindgemäßheit habe ich mich dazu entschieden den Schwerpunkt der Arbeit auf die Herauskristallisierung der pädagogisch-funktionalen und der entwicklungspsychologisch relevanten Aspekte von Bilderbüchern zu legen. Es folgt zunächst ein kurzer Abriß über Merkmale und Formen heutiger Bilderbücher. Darauf folgt der pädagogisch-funktionale Aspekt, wobei ich den Ertrag des Bilderbuchs bezogen auf die Punkte umweltzeigende und umweltklärende Funktion, Unterstützung der geistigen Entwicklung, erziehende Funktion, literaturpädagogische Funktion und schließlich Ausprägung des ästhetischen Empfindens herausarbeite. Zuletzt wird die Stellung des Bilderbuchs in der Entwicklung des Kindes beschrieben. Es soll dargestellt werden, wie Kinder in den unterschiedlichen Entwicklungsphasen mit Büchern umgehen, welche Fähigkeiten sie bereits besitzen und wo spezielle Förderungsmöglichkeiten bestehen. Den Schwerpunkt in der überaus facettenreichen Entwicklung habe ich dabei auf die Kleinstkindentwicklung, auf die Bilderfassung, die Sprachentwicklung, die Identitätsbildung und die Zuwendung zum Realismus gelegt.
